Degree Requirements: Must be on track for a 2:1 or above. Undergraduate degree in progress in a biological sciences subject. You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement.

Basic Qualifications:
Two A Levels in either Chemistry, Biology or Maths.

Industrial Placement Studentships in Protein & Cellular Sciences, Screening, Profiling & Mechanistic Biology and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

The protein reagent, assay development and synthetic biochemistry groups in Stevenage comprise approximately 100 scientists across three departments, with diverse scientific backgrounds. The groups have responsibility for the production of biological reagents and the development of assays for small molecule and biopharm drug discovery projects, as well as screening and mechanism of action studies.

During your industrial placement year you will receive full training & support within our state of the art facilities in Stevenage to enable you to develop your skills within an industrial environment in one or more of the following teams:
Molecular Biology And Recombinant Gene Expression
Cell Biology
Assay Development 
Protein Biochemistry
Synthetic Biochemistry 
Large Scale Production Of Biological Reagents
Plate-Based Screening
Advanced Data Analysis

By working alongside teams specialising in different disease areas, candidates will also have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the role of drug targets in the pathophysiology of disease.
We are seeking enthusiastic undergraduate students with a flair for practical work to fill a number of Industrial Placement positions within these 3 departments: Protein & Cellular Sciences; Screening, Profiling & Mechanistic Biology; Advanced Manufacturing Technology, for the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 2 years of a degree in a biological science subject prior to commencement of the placement. 

Candidates must be able to work accurately and methodically in the laboratory and good communication skills are essential.
